How can I get an ID card?
Your University card serves as your Library card which will be given to you once your admission process is completed. Library cards must be presented when borrowing materials.
How can I access My Library Account?
Library account is different from Blackboard account. Login with your library account details sent to you via e-mail. If you have any difficulty logging in to your library account, please visit the Library Circulation Desk, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
How can I access My Library Account from the library iportal?
Go to email@example.com. On the upper right hand corner, click the 'My Library Account'. Enter your library username and password. You can use your account to:
- Renew your borrowed items online
- Check what you have on loan and it’s due date
- Check your fines if any
- Reserve item if it is not available
- Save your search history, which you can retrieve when required
How can I login to any computer in the library?
It will require you to enter your Blackboard account details before you can use any computer in the library and to avail printing services. Make sure you log-off before you leave.
How can I print from the library workstations?
Once you're login, send your document to be printed to the printer. Make sure that you have selected the right printer. Remember that the printer is not installed by default, do not click print without selecting a printer.
After the documents were sent to the printer, go to the print release station. Login again with the same computer login details and release your document by clicking 'Print'. If the document sent is not showing on your account, check the printer you have selected.
If you do not have any credit in your account, purchase cards from the Circulation Desk to reload your account.
How can I photocopy materials?
A self-service photocopying machine is available for AED 25/- fils per page. Photocopying facility is restricted to 5% of the total pages of the item.

There are two study rooms located in the Learning Centre that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Book online to reserve a room.

A suggestion box is located in the library close to the Circulation desk. Suggestions can also be submitted online through the library iPortal.

What e-books do you have?
E-books can be accessed through Dawsonera platform. Use the Advanced Search option on the One Search tool and tick Dawsonera to search within the database. E-books can be downloaded to your machine for a number of days that will allow you to read off-line. Printing of pages is limited.
What are the newspapers subscribed by the library?

What other resources are available online?
There are a number of Open Access Resources available for research purposes in the E-resources page.

Is student’s dissertation accessible off-campus?
Yes. Dissertations can be accessed off-campus through the University digital repository. Search Bspace in the homepage to link for dissertations. Access to full-text is allowed to registered users only.

Use the One Search tool that will allow you to search across all resources.
Select a database that is suitable to your faculty that will allow you to perform complex searching.

Interlibrary loan / Document Request
How can I get an item that the University does not own?
The library provides interlibrary loan / document request service for registered users of the library. You can request an item by using our online form. Please check the availability of the library resources through the main catalogue before you proceed with your request. For more information on interlibrary loan, check our Services page.
