Module Description: This module focuses on developing a clear understanding of the global banking sector in light of the emerging developments in the aftermath of the global economic meltdown. The crucial roles played by banks and financial institutions in economic development would lay the foundation for understanding the ensuing topics. The role of international banking/financial institutions, central banks, development banks are also discussed in depth. Emerging trends in global banking such as internet banking, Islamic banking and money-laundering-related issues are discussed.
