Module Description: The aim of the dissertation is to give students an opportunity to focus in depth on one aspect of finance and banking, and to allow them to demonstrate their skills to the course assessors and to potential employers. 
Students are required to define clearly the research questions, discuss the rationale for such questions and the expected results, describe the methodology and the data sources they are going to use.
The aim of the class/ tutorial meetings with students is to give students a clear understanding of the various methods of undertaking empirical research in finance. The classes involve training in data collection, design of surveys and interviews, project writing and presentation skills.
