Module Description: The aim of the module is to provide students with an understanding of the relevant laws and regulations in the UAE applicable to employment including the rights and obligations of employers and employees and to familiarize them with international labour standards. The module covers the development and sources of labour law in UAE; working conditions; non-discrimination in the work place; workers’ safety and protection; compensation for occupational injuries; Restrictive covenants and protection of trade secrets; Emiratisation legislations; international labour standards; termination of employment contracts and severance entitlement; and resolution of employment disputes.

The module coordinator will provide students with mandatory texts on UAE Law prepared purposefully for this particular module.
