PHIL 102 Introduction to Logic and Critical Thinking

Module Description: This module is an extensive introduction to the fundamentals of logic, argumentation, reasoning, rhetoric, and language of critical thinking. It covers the principles and practices of syllogisms, language and meaning, deductive and inductive reasoning, nature of arguments, categories of logical errors and fallacies, epistemology of truth and credibility, methods of rhetorical persuasion, and critical thinking tools. Although this module is philosophical in its capacity, it focuses on conditioning students to become logical and critical in their interaction with intellectual thought and complex ideas.
