Module Description: Policy development, analysis, and implementation of change processes in educational organisations are the substance of this module. It will introduce educators, educational policymakers and leaders and those aspiring to become leaders in the education sector to thinking critically about the art and processes of educational policymaking through the study of theories, research and experiences of others, as well as by reflecting on their own perspectives and beliefs about policymaking and implementation. Learners will develop critical understanding of educational policymaking and implementation from a number of philosophical and practical perspectives and will be able to articulate and reflect on their own beliefs about educational policymaking and implementation. Further they will be able to undertake research in educational policy and change, offer policy recommendations, evaluate policy efforts and prepare policy briefs for a range of audiences. Particular attention is paid to policy issues and policy making in the UAE and MENA.
