Department: Master of Education
Module Description: The nature of innovation and approaches to managing innovation in educational practice such as in curriculum development is critically examined. The module explores how curriculum innovation can be effectively fostered, implemented, and managed within a wide range of educational settings. It examines concepts, theories, strategies, and practical tools necessary for driving educational change, encouraging creative thinking, and supporting the development of innovative teaching and learning practices. In addition, the module discusses research methods, analytic and evaluative methods and techniques and how these are applied in researching innovative practice. It emphasises curriculum innovation, reflective practice, leadership in innovation, and the evaluation of new approaches to ensure they meet learners' needs and institutional goals. Through case studies and project-based work, students gain hands-on experience in designing and managing innovation initiatives within educational contexts.
