Module Description: This module explores key approaches and methods in language teaching alongside principles and practices of curriculum design. It provides a critical overview of traditional and contemporary language teaching methodologies, including communicative language teaching, task-based learning, content and language integrated learning (CLIL), and learner-centred approaches. Students will engage with curriculum theory, syllabus design, materials development, and course planning, with particular attention to contextual and cultural factors that shape language education. The module equips students with the knowledge and skills to make informed pedagogical decisions and to design effective, research-informed language curricula for diverse learner populations.
