Module Description: To introduce the students to fundamental concepts of power system stability and protection. To familiarize the students with the construction of overhead lines and underground cables and give them an appreciation of the mutidisciplinary nature of their design. To introduce the concept of FACTS, and familiarize them with the basic design and principle of operation of HVDC systems.
