Module Description: This course aims to provide knowledge about Blockchain and cryptocurrencies' current trends. It covers fundamental areas of Blockchain technology's emergence and further expands to the different digital currencies. Additionally, it critically evaluates existing cryptocurrency platforms and examines the risks and challenges presented by a sea change of disruption. Finally, Blockchain is discussed in terms of Islamic Finance, sustainability, and as a central bank digital currency (CBDC). This module allows students to understand the cryptocurrency context in terms of regulation and compliance and put it in the UAE context.
