Module Description: This module introduces students to legal research. It explains how to conduct legal research under several methods. It discusses, among others, legal issues, hypotheses, title, sources of data and other skills necessary for conducting legal research. The module also trains students on legal writing and the use of legal terminology. It will cover several topics, such as the significance and characteristics of legal research; types of legal research; how to find online resources; legal writing, quotation & plagiarism, footnotes & referencing; drafting research papers (introduction, main body and conclusion). It is intended to explain and discuss the relevant main topics under both English law and UAE law.
