Department: Bachelor of Law
Module Description: This module covers topics related to how the state carries out its public governance functions, both internally and towards its citizens, and how, if at all, administrative action and regulations can be challenged by way of judicial review or other mechanisms. It also looks at the relationship between the government and its employees, public contracts and forms of good governance. Topics are principally explored on the basis of UAE and UK law. However, throughout the course students are introduced to administrative law from a comparative perspective, looking at jurisdictions beyond the UAE and the UK as well as at administrative law in the international sphere.
The module coordinator will provide students with mandatory texts on UAE Law, prepared purposefully for this particular module.
