LAW 231 International Organisations: Reading list

LAW 231 International Organisations

Department: Bachelor of Law

Module Description: This module aims to introduce students to the role and functions of international organisations, and to familiarise them with the legal mechanisms governing them. The module covers topics including the membership and legal personality of international organisations, their functions, privileges and immunities, their responsibilities, and mechanisms of accountability. We cover these and other topics on the basis of both regional and specialised international organisations, including the United Nations, the Arab League, the European Union, and the World Trade Organisation. We also assess the rise and impact of NGOs and their relationship with international organisations.
