Module Description: This module aims at indicating the importance of arbitration as an alternative method of dispute resolution. It discusses the pros and cons of this method, and differentiates it from all other methods of dispute resolution. Thereafter, the module provides deep anyalsis of the UAE Arbitration Law along with comparisions with the English Arbitration Act. This will cover the five elements of the arbitral process, namely, the arbitration agreement, the arbitral tribunal, the arbitral proceedings, the arbitral awards and challenge & enforcement of such awards, and the impact of arbitration law on entrepreneurship and innovation.
The module coordinator will provide students with mandatory texts on UAE Law, prepared purposefully for this particular module.
