Module Description: The module covers essential legal aspects of media including privacy, breach of confidence, defamation, hatred speech, etc. It also discusses the duties and rights of journalists. The module covers topics including international law and media; establishment of news agency; journalists’’ rights and duties; duties of editors; online publications; liability for illegal online publications; duties of the creator and/or owner of websites; liability for false news and information, and legal procedures and penalties. It is intended to explain and discuss the relevant main topics under both English law and UAE law.
