Module Description: This module aims to introduce students to the principles behind the law of foreign investment, familiarise them with the legal framework that governs the making and protection of foreign investment. The module covers the history of international investment law, sources of international investment law, role and functions of international investment law, national Foreign Investment Law; substantive standards of protection under investment treaties; managing political risk; international investment law and sustainable development; foreign investment contracts and settlement of investment disputes, and promoting entrepreneurship and innovation through the law of Investment.
The module coordinator will provide students with mandatory texts on UAE Law, prepared purposefully for this particular module.
