JREPT: Submission guidelines

 

INSTRUCTION FOR SUBMISSION

Submissions should be approximately 4,000 – 8,000 words including abstract, appendices, and references. Note that all contributors are encouraged to highlight the implications of their work for practice, policy, theory and further research. All submissions must adhere to the journal submission guidelines.

Publication Ethical Guidelines for Journal for Researching Education Practice and Theory (JREPT) 

This journal has a strict ethical policy that requires editors, authors and reviewers to observe. We have zero tolerance for plagiarism and breach of good practice. 
JREPT is committed to the guidelines in the Committee on Publication Ethics’ (COPE) International Standards for Authors summarised as follows: 

  • The research being reported should have been conducted in an ethical and responsible manner and should comply with all relevant legislation. 
  • Researchers should present their results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation. 
  • Researchers should strive to describe their methods clearly and unambiguously so that their findings can be confirmed by others. 
  • Researchers should adhere to publication requirements that submitted work is original, is not plagiarised, and has not been published elsewhere. 
  • Authors should take collective responsibility for submitted and published work. 
  • The authorship of research publications should accurately reflect individuals’ contributions to the work and its reporting. 
  • Funding sources and relevant conflicts of interest should be disclosed.

TYPES OF SUBMISSION

Research Articles

Manuscripts based on research in education; should clearly state the research aim, context, review of relevant literature, methodology, data analysis, finding and its implication to practice, theory and policy.

Possible areas:

  • Science Education
  • Special and Inclusive Education
  • Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Applied Linguistics
  • Second and Foreign Language Education
  • Educational Leadership
  • Educational Management
  • International and Comparative Education
  • Curriculum and Instruction 

Working Papers

Working papers should be relevant to education (usually research-based papers at developmental stages showing significant potential) and may be part of a larger educational research project. It should show an overview of the project/paper, its current stage, work to be done and potential outcomes and significance. It should be appropriately developed and clearly presented.

Reflective Accounts on Educational Initiative

This aims at sharing experiences from practice and represents the voice of the practitioner, which may be supported by relevant theory and research. It may also involve reporting on specific educational initiatives undertaken by, for example, educational institutions to improve the quality of practice. Reflective papers are welcome from students, practitioners and policy makers in education. 

Essays

This includes educational essays that involve reexamination or application of existing educational concepts, theories and/or practices in order to present new understanding and perspectives. Such manuscripts should involve a well developed argument that is informed by practice, research and theory. Students’ term essays that are of high quality may be developed further for this domain of JREPT. 

Book Reviews

JREPT would also publish reviews of books relevant to education practice and theory.

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Editorial Board of the Journal for Researching Education Practice and Theory (JREPT) is calling for papers for its issue. The Board is interested in receiving papers from a range of education related areas consistent with its scope, including (but not limited to):
